About Us
Northern Michigan Brass Band
All NMiBB members, including the conductor, volunteer their time and talent. No one gets paid. Approximately 50% of the players have university music degrees with the remaining half being dedicated and talented amateurs. Even though NMiBB rehearses twice a month in Gaylord, it draws on such a wide area for membership that it really doesn’t consider itself tied to any one community. It belongs to all of northern Michigan which is why it performs concerts in so many different venues throughout the area. When planning a program, NMiBB tries to remember that not everyone listens to music in the same way. Some people listen with their heads, others with their hearts and still others with their feet. NMiBB includes music that will appeal to all these listening styles on every program.
