THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!

About this month's artists:

Joe Black has been a journeyman musician in the Northern MI music scene for over 20 years. Starting in the late 90’s with his bands Subsonic and Catalyst, both were integral parts of the local DIY scene. From there he went on to play bass in popular Alternative rock band Muzz & Remus, then later the electro dance outfit One Hot Robot. Joe then decided to go back to his creative roots, trading in his bass for a guitar and started to write music that channeled the feeling and EMOtion that he wanted to convey. Now either through a wall of distortion with his current band (Drama Team, Stay Fast) or just with his acoustic in hand, he uses them all as a living journal. And he is happy to share it with anyone who wants to listen.

Jonathan Stoye is a singer/songwriter from Traverse City, MI. Known for his instrumental versatility, Stoye pours himself into his music, funneling pain and passion into digestible pop rock. His extensive experience in Nashville and beyond have helped groom Jonathan as one today's most exciting up and coming performers.

Jeff has been a singer/songwriter for over 20 years. Born and raised in Traverse CIty, he got his start as an adolescent playing with friends and other local talent. He cut his teeth with a band he formed in high school, Blisstripp. The band went through a few different iterations before a handful of founding members left to pursue higher education and other professions. LIke most young people, a basic aversion to his hometown coupled with dreams of fame fortune found him (and his remaining bandmates) moving to California. Playing music full time on the west coast was a formative but short lived experience and after less than a year most of the band moved back to Michigan for opportunities a little closer to home. He took a few years off from fulltime music and in that time earned a Bachelors from GVSU. Almost immediately after college graduation Jeff followed his former bandmates south to Nashville where he spent a few years as the leader of his own band, Keys to the City. A chance meeting with another Nashville transplant introduced him to his future wife (and mother of his children). The Nashville dream soon fizzled and he and his fiance moved to Pittsburgh to be closer to her family. Over the next few years they performed as a duet under the same name (Keys to the CIty) and after the birth of their first child the duet decided to move back to Traverse City to raise their family. After coming home he and his wife rounded out the rest of their clan with a set of twins. He performs now more often to an audience of little ones as being a dad is now his number one job but is still passionate about music. As his two youngest turn the page from toddlers to preschoolers he's found his way back out into the music scene and is looking forward to collaborating with other locals with sights set on forming another band.
