Join us on Wednesday, August 22nd, for an evening learning how to utilize our late summer harvest with Mary MooneyNachazel, Events and Outreach coordinator of Oryana Community Co-op!

Mary will explore how to have fun, enjoy and show off your bountiful harvest by creating simple, nutritious dishes including a cooking demonstration and delicious samples.

Our motto for the evening will be: “You toiled to grow it… now you should show it!”

There is no fee for this class and donations are requested to support The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park.

This class is open to the public and advance registration is requested.

About our presenter, Mary MooneyNachazel:

Mary’s passion for food began at two years of age. She bellied up to the kitchen counter on a chair and watched her mother magically craft three meals a day for a family of ten. Inspired by her mom’s art-form, she went on to study food and has never looked back.

For Oryana, she instructs cooking classes, performs outreach education, demonstrates recipes and techniques in the store, and leads staff or community events of all sizes.

Outside of Oryana, you can find her baking desserts for clients, being a personal chef, or managing vacation cabins. Whether

decorating a cake, re-mastering old recipes, figuring out how to cater dinner in the woods, or conquering the art of grilled veggies, her love of food never wanes. Mary considers her kitchen her ‘lab’ and can lose all track of time when playing with her food. She enjoys teaching the benefits of working with quality food and loves empowering others to do the same!
