SEEDS and Earthwork Music are planning a journey - a quest - to reconnect K-12 youth throughout northwest Michigan to their own sources of creativity, power and voice while cultivating a healthy relationship with nature and the fine arts. With support from the Michigan Department of Education and the Worthington Family Foundation, SEEDS is launching The Quest 2016! This year’s theme is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service and encouraging youth to go find their parks!

Earthwork Music Collective musicians will help students craft songs derived from wildlife, park experiences and the diverse natural features that make up their place. Students will also work side by side with Blackbird Arts to create nature inspired art instillations for a park in their local community. SEEDS is partnering with Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to provide students opportunities to explore parks all over the region while gaining a deeper appreciation of the nature all around us. The journey ends with a community performance on June 30 at Milliken Auditorium in Traverse City.
