About This Event
Join us for The Great American Picnic at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse in Leelanau State Park, Northport, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon on the lakeshore featuring outdoor games, a Pirate Scavenger Hunt, and the opportunity to drive a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV). Picnic fare will be available, including hot dog meals ($5), brat meals ($7), pulled pork sandwiches ($10), and Moomers Ice Cream ($5). All meal options include a bag of chips, cookie and water/lemonade. Bring the family and celebrate summer at one of Michigan’s most scenic historic landmarks. Meet the Organizer
The Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum opened in 1985. Volunteers restored the southern apartment to the 1920's and 1930's time period when the McCormick family lived there. Tour the residence, climb the tower for a spectacular view of Lake Michigan.
