ABOUT CHANNING & QUINN

For over twenty-years, concert-goers have enjoyed the fresh air, relaxed atmosphere and great music of Summer Sounds, presented by and benefitting the non profit Michigan Legacy Art Park. It's the perfect way to spend a midsummer night out with old friends and new.

With a highlight on local goods, the Crystal Mountain Market has the perfect accompaniments for Summer Sounds, with a soup and salad bar, deli sandwiches, baked goods, a selection of cheeses and crackers, fresh fruits, vegetables and meat, plus a variety of northern Michigan wines and craft beers – all available for purchase onsite just minutes from the Art Park entrance.

Guests can bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. Cuddling and sharing is always encouraged. Please help save waste and leave-no-trace by hiking out your own trash.

Golf Cart rides from the parking lot to our amphitheater are available for those unable to walk the ADA accessible short trail to the stage. Portable restrooms are available at the amphitheater and trailhead.

Call 231-378-4963 for more information or to sponsor one of these memorable and legendary events. Free parking is available at the Art Park entrance with additional parking on Mountain Woods Drive, adjacent to the park or at any public Crystal Mountain lot.

ABOUT OUR AMPHITHEATER

Built in 1995 and dedicated in memory of Jessie Frohlich by Edward P. Frohlich, an acoustic engineer helped choose the ideal location, and Michigan architect Bob Holdeman designed the venue. It was rebuilt for the 2014 season with a major grant from Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. Its terraced seating, built by Art Park Founder David Barr and early Board Member Jim Ristine, accommodates 150 people in an intimate and one-of-a-kind setting.

ABOUT OUR ART PARK

Michigan Legacy Art Park is a nonprofit arts organization founded by internationally acclaimed artist David Barr in 1995 to enrich lives through experiences that connect art, nature, and Michigan’s history. Contemporary Art comes to life in the park’s permanent collection of almost 50 works, located in the midst of a 30-acre forest preserve. The Art Park hosts thousands of visitors and students each year, features miles of trails, world-class concerts outdoors, art and nature workshops, and extensive education programs. It is open every day of the year.
