Strong Women, Strong Voices is a 9th-12th grade women's choir camp experience. It is open to all ladies in the Northern Michigan area that have choir experience.

The camp will take place at First Congregational Church at the base of the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City on:


Monday, August 6: 9 am to 4 pm

Tuesday, August 7: 9 am to 4 pm

Wednesday, August 8: 9 am to 5 pm (4 pm performance)

Sunday, August 12: 10 am to noon (11 am church service performance)


Strong Women, Strong Voices will provide singers with the opportunity to grow in vocal talent and musicianship, grow in confidence and have inter and intrapersonal opportunities in a relationship oriented setting, learn how to make deep meaning through the literature of each of the songs that are sung,and unpack the how-tos of successful auditioning. Singers will enjoy two performances where stage presence and articulate expression will abound.


Lindsay Wills and Stephanie Brazee, vocal music directors, will lead the camp in an inspirational, motivational and highly skilled manner. Students will walk away from the Strong Women, Strong Voices experience with feelings of empowerment, skill, confidence and joy as they prepare for a school year filled with choir friendships and beautiful song.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS


Stephanie Brazee

Stephanie Schall-Brazee is an elementary general music teacher for the Traverse City Area Public Schools where she also directs the select Women’s Choir, Bella Voce. As a choral director, Stephanie’s choirs have consistently earned first degree ratings at festivals, and have been invited to sing at the Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In addition to her public school teaching, Stephanie is on the faculty of the Northwest Michigan College Children’s Choirs where she directs the Lyric and Prelude Choirs.



Stephanie’s training includes a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Music Education from The Hartt School, where she was a graduate assistant to Dr. John Feierabend, a leading expert in early childhood music.



In addition to her teaching, Stephanie has served as a clinician presenting sessions on “Singing Development in Young Children”, “Music and Movement in Preschool” and “Conversational Solfege.” Stephanie is an endorsed Teacher trainer for First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege.

Lindsay Wills

Lindsay Sea Wills is passionate about inspiring and awakening the human spirit through the gift of song. This calling manifests itself in Lindsay's life as a private voice instructor and as an adjudicator/clinician for the Michigan School Vocal Music Association.



Lindsay has previously served as the Choral Director at DeWitt High School and Junior High, Traverse City West Senior High and Traverse City West Middle School. Lindsay has presented at the Michigan Music 2013 Convention (MMC) and at the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) 2013 and 2016 Conventions. In the fall of 2012, she served as a vocal solo clinician at the MSVMA adjudication clinic. Lindsay directed the Michigan Regional Honors Choir in 2016 and is looking forward to conducting the MMC SA Michigan State Honors Choir in 2019.



Lindsay holds her B.A. in Vocal Music Education from Michigan State University and her M.A. in Counseling from Western Michigan University. An authenticity advocate, Lindsay's other professional interests include counseling, speaking, teaching and writing, which she embarks on through her company, Live True. Lindsay was recently a TEDx Traverse City finalist, where she shared about living a courageous, compassionate, resilient and awakened life.
