​On April 11, during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Miss Michigan 2018, Emily Sioma, will be coming to Traverse City. Emily will take the stage at Milliken Auditorium to share her personal journey as a sexual assault survivor, raise awareness of the issue and encourage other survivors to be proud of their recovery journey. This event is made possible by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. ​

Join us for a very special Sexual Assault Awareness Month event to benefit the Women’s Resource Center for the Grand Traverse Area.Emily Sioma, Miss Michigan 2018, will be coming to Northern Michigan to share her journey as a sexual assault survivor, and help bring Solace & Solidarity to survivors and the allies who support them. A panel discussion will follow Emily’s speech.

1 in 6 women will be the victim of a completed or attempted rape in her lifetime.The Women’s Resource Center for the Grand Traverse Area is part of our area’s Sexual Assault Response Team.Our specially trained staff and volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to support survivors as a Rape Kit is completed.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Women’s Resource Center for the Grand Traverse Area.

Together, we as a community can ensure that no survivor ever has to be alone.
