Join us at the Music House Museum for two showings of Silents with a Side of Christmas on Nov. 25th at 5:30 & 7:30 pm. A family holiday treat with silent shorts featuring Laurel and Hardy as well as some Christmas Classics fun! All of this will be presented and accompanied by Red Wings Organist, Dave Calendine! This a perfect way for the family to begin their Holiday celebration.

It will be a chilly event unfortunately. The Music House is dealing with some major furnace challenges in our 'Barn', the main display area of the museum. The replacement will be complicated and expensive. Due to the Holiday week, we do not yet have a start date. Bringing in heaters has not offered a solution.

We have decided to move forward with our tours and scheduled events but want guests to know that it is going to be chilly, at best probably 55 degrees. Our artist for the weekend events, Dave Calendine, is a real trooper and is still wants to perform this weekend. We are planning on making the best of this challenge. We will be offering free hot cider and hot chocolate for the events and are going to bring in as many blankets as we can find. A fun holiday adventure for all involved!!

We wanted to let guests know ahead of time about the situation. We hope that you will still choose to join us for the holiday fun and wonderful tours. We do recommend that you dress warmly and encourage you to bring your favorite holiday blankets to add to the our beautiful holiday decorations!

The amazing Dave Calendine is a talented organist and pianist and a great entertainer. As a young organ student, Dave visited the Akron Civic Theater, where organist Lyn Larsen performed on The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. Dave was wowed by this incredible pipe organ. By l6, his skills were so impressive that he was offered a job playing the Wurlitzer at the theater. He played there for three years and eventually went on to perform on several theatre organs around Ohio, the US and overseas. Now a resident of the Detroit area, Dave is a staff organist at The Fox Theater, has served as the live organist for The Detroit Red Wings for numerous seasons, performs at The Redford Theater and at his church as well as concerts at the Sanfillipo Foundation in Illinois, and at the national Music Box Society International conventions. Dave is a frequent performer for our silent film series at the Music House Museum on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ, which made its way "up north".
