Roberta Shalifoe is a member of the Little River Bands of Ottawa Indians of Manistee and lives in Petoskey. She is an experienced Native American dancer and a talented painter. Roberta will lead this performance of multiple styles of Native American dance. Other performers will include Kara Hunt, Ava Hunt, Jo Smith, Leroy Shenoske and and and Raymond Shenoskey Jr.
Roberta Shalifoe is a proud member of the Little River Bands of Ottawa Indians of Manistee Michigan and lives in Petoskey. She is an experienced Native American dancer and a talented painter with work in the Northern Michigan Artists Market. Roberta will lead this performance of multiple styles of Native American dance. Roberta, who performs in the Fancy Dance style, and each of the other participating dancers will explain their dance style, regalia, the cultural significance and history of their dance and then perform a dance.
Other performers will include Kara Hunt who will present the adult woman's jingle dress style. Ava Hunt will dance in the youth girls jingle dress style. Jo Smith will sing prayer songs and drum. Leroy Shenoskey will dance in the men's traditional style. Raymond Shenoskey Jr. will do a hoop dance.
Roberta, Raymond and Leroy will end the night with a hand drum song.
