Join Meghan Milbrath of Northern Bee Network for this day-long workshop on Requeening and Late Nucs.
Requeening is a basic and essential skill in beekeeping that allows you to replace a queen with a local queen, add in mite-resistant genetics, and give your hive the benefit of a young queen.
Also, by learning how to make a nuc for your old queen, you get the benefit of having a queen on hand and an extra colony to replace one lost over the winter.
In this clinic we will discuss:
Participants will have time to discuss the process, and practice it multiple times. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a queen and nuc box so that you can leave the clinic with the knowledge and resources to immediately implement this in your own hive.
*Three years of beekeeping is required to take this course. A bee suit is also required.*
Space is limited, please register by July 25! Questions? Contact [email protected].
Cost $40 per person. Lunch will be provided.
