Tickets for this tour are $20 until September 30; $25 after.
#1. Cottage by Kelly, 575 E Bay St, Cottage 9, Harbor Springs
Approaching downtown Harbor Springs on M-119/ Main St:
Pass the Wequetonsing Golf Course on your right then turn left on Zoll St and then right onto E Bay St.
#2. Vintage Cottage Kicked Up, 368 Church St, Harbor Springs
Beginning in downtown Harbor Springs:
Travel down E Main St to State St. Turn right onto State Drive and left at the first cross street onto W Third St about 350 feet. Turn right onto Church St.
#3. The Thatch House, 304 Park Ave, Charlevoix
Approaching Charlevoix from the south, turn left onto one of these streets: W Lincoln, W Upright or W Hurlbut (to avoid some of the traffic congestion near the bridge). Continue three blocks to Grant St. Turn right and proceed to Park Ave. Turn left.
#4. Grandfather’s Footsteps, 9255 Franklin St, Alden
Beginning at the Alden Depot Park on Coy St in Alden:
Drive north on Coy 0.1 mile. Turn left onto Franklin.
#5. House of Timber and Glass, 11332 S. East Torch Lake Drive, Alden
Beginning from the intersection on M-72 and Hill Rd in Williamsburg:
Turn onto Hill Rd and continue 1.2 miles to Rapid City Rd NW. Turn left toward Alden and drive 6.3 miles. Rapid City Rd becomes S East Torch Lake Rd. Watch for Draper Construction on your left. Turn immediately left on Walling Rd.
#6. Lake Cottage Tech, 8380 North Bayshore Drive, Elk Rapids
Beginning at the Elk Rapids Chamber of Commerce on US 31:
Drive north on US 31 a half mile. Turn left on Industrial Park then turn right on N Bayshore Dr. Continue 0.6 mile.
#7. Site Planned, 9101 Skegemog Point Rd, Williamsburg
Beginning in Williamsburg at Turtle Creek Casino & Resort on US 31:
Travel east on US 31 3.4 miles. Turn left onto Skegemog Point Rd and continue for 2.7 miles.
Please note that Charlevoix’s annual Apple Festival takes place on Saturday 10/14, too. Charlevoix officials indicate that you should expect heavy traffic after 11:00 am. You might want to consider touring homes 1, 2 and 3 first to avoid the brunt of the north-bound traffic back-ups in Charlevoix. Otherwise be prepared to enjoy a slow drive north through Charlevoix.
Open House at Designs by Dawn, 416 E Mitchell St, Petoskey
Beginning in downtown Petoskey at the intersection of US 31 and E Mitchell St:
Turn onto E Mitchell and continue 0.2 mile. The showroom is on the right.
Metered parking is available in downtown Petoskey. We suggest the lots behind the shops on the 300 and 400 blocks of E. Mitchell St.
A complimentary copy of Northern Home & Cottage magazine, with photos and information about all the homes on the tour, is available at each home. You may start touring at any home, go to as many or as few as you like, in any order. On the day of the tour, you may purchase tickets at any of the homes. For security and privacy reasons, photography is not permitted. Of course there are photos of all the homes in your free issue of Northern Home & Cottage.
