Event Details

May is Morel Mushroom Month in Michigan! Join us on Wednesday, May 16th from 7:00pm – 8:30pm to learn more about the mushrooms you may discover while enjoying outdoor springtime adventures.

Jim Moses and Linda Grigg of Forest Garden Organic Farm will discuss a variety of Michigan springtime mushrooms including how to distinguish between morels and false morels.

There is no fee for this class. Free will donations are greatly appreciated and will support The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park.

About our presenter, Jim Moses:

Jim Moses has a diversified organic farm in Leelanau county, where he has been growing shiitake mushrooms and other cultivated mushrooms for 32 years. He has also been foraging for wild mushrooms for 40 years, and has earned his MDARD certification to sell wild mushrooms.
