North Peak and Porterhouse Presents are teaming up to host Mohawks for Munson, a Fundraising Event for the Cowell Family Cancer Center! The adult evening event will take place from 6pm until midnight and is 21 plus only!

For the past several years, North Peak has been hosting cancer fundraiser events, raising over $300,000 for national childhood cancer research. This year, North Peak has decided to host an independent event to direct funds to the local cancer community. With over 1,500 area patients diagnosed with cancer annually, North Peak felt the need to help raise awareness and support right here, in northern Michigan.

On May 7^th, 2016, North Peak will be hosting a new cancer fundraiser, aimed at keeping all money raised local. Mohawks for Munson will be a fundraising festival geared towards supporting the new Cowell Family Cancer Center at Munson. Participants will get Mohawks shaved to show their support for the local cancer community. All money raised will go directly to the newly opened cancer center. The 100,000-square-foot center brings state-of-the-art treatment options, providers, research, and support staff to one location. The center is northern Michigan’s most comprehensive resource for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and related disorders. The new cancer center has been designed to anticipate the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of each patient, and it will transform the standard of cancer care in northern Michigan.

Porterhouse Presents is producing the event and designing a huge parking lot community celebration including bands, Silent Disco, roaming entertainment, and other award-winning music experiences guaranteed to make it a blast for both the free family daytime festival and the evening adult party. The event will kick off at noon and run until midnight. Family festivities will take place from noon until 5pm, with Mohawks being shaved from 3pm until 5pm. Following the main event will be a 21 and over after party with live entertainment from 6pm until midnight. Entertainment to include The MacPodz, Soul Patch, Drew Hale Trio, Lucas Paul Band, Deep Water Blue Samba School, DJs, Nic Carman, Kyle Skarshaug, Wings of Wonder, fire hula hoopers and hooping tent, bouncy house and much more! Leading up to the event, participants are encouraged to register and create a fundraising page on the Mohawks for Munson event page, https://www.crowdrise.com/MohawksForMunson. All money raised, will go directly to Munson Health Care Foundation to support the Cowell Family Cancer Center.
