Classic Songs and Stories about Them is a presentation by Meredith Parsons McComb that will include Live music and stories of Mrs. McComb's opera career from Traverse City to Tel Aviv.

The Leelanau Community Cultural Center will host a performance by Metropolitan Opera artist Meredith Parsons McComb on November 5 at 4 pm. Mrs. McComb will present a program that will include live music and storytelling from her career on stages from Traverse City to Paris and Tel Aviv. Tickets are $15 non member/$13 member. Children/students 5 - 18 yrs $5.

Meredith is a product of Traverse City Public Schools, NMC at Interlochen, Middlebury College, University of Michigan School of Music, and her parents, John and Betty Parsons. Meredith was a Thomas J. Watson Traveling Fellow and received a Grammy for the D.G.G./Metropolitan Opera recording of “Die Walkure.” She was a soloist with dozens of symphony orchestras and opera companies across the US and in France, Germany, Canada, Israel, and Holland, and has been presented in recital in New York, London, and Paris. With her husband, David McComb, who died in 2014, she was three times national champion in a two-man keelboat, the International Tempest.

In 2015, she relocated to Traverse City after twenty-five years in the village of Bolton Landing, New York.
