About This Event
On Friday, May 22, artists will be painting “En Plein Air” . Since this is a virtual paint-out, artists may still be at their quarantine locations anywhere in the world! That evening, by 8pm EDT, artists must upload photos of their paintings for the exhibit. Our team of tech experts will then create a virtual exhibit for your viewing pleasure.
EarlyBird Sale is on Sunday from 3-4 pm ~ $25
On May 24 you have the possibility to view and purchase the paintings one hour earlier than the general public – from 3 pm to 4 pm. To have this advantage you must purchase the access code for the advance viewing and sale. The code will be emailed to you shortly before the Preview Sale begins.
Public Viewing and Sale begins one hour later ~ FREE
One hour later, Sunday May 24 at 4 pm, the exhibit will be open to the public. The exhibit and sale will continue until Saturday, May 30 at 6 pm.
- Plein air artists from Leelanau County and beyond have been invited to participate in this event.
- Artists will donate 40% of the art sales to the Old Art Building.
Prizes for Best of Show and People’s Choice will be awarded. The painting that wins Best of Show will be made into a high-quality print to be available for purchase throughout the year. The painting will also be used as the key image identity in the poster for the annual Art Leelanau Benefit and Art Exhibition in July.

LCCC's mission is to promote cultural enrichment programs and events, to provide a gathering place for the community, and to ensure the preservation of the Old Art Building in Leland as a significant part of Leelanau history.
