Joni Mitchell's 75th birthday is November 7. We will celebrate it on the 9th with a tribute concert by Northeastern Michigan's Kim Casey and her trio. She performs a blend of compositions on 12 guitars, each alternately tuned to Joni Mitchell's specifications. Kim Casey leads an extraordinary trio which in includes Eric Dunckel (upright bass) and Jim Miller (drums/percussion).
Joni Mitchell's 75th birthday is November 7. We will celebrate it the evening of November 9th with a special tribute concert by Northeastern Michigan musician Kim Casey and her trio. Kim has been a jazz, blues, and folk music artist for over 40 years. She performs a unique blend of notable compositions on 12 guitars, distinctly played by Kim Casey, each one alternately tuned to Joni Mitchell's song specifications.
Kim Casey, will present a selection of Joni Mitchell’s popular songs. Throughout the show, Joni’s remarkable and familiar acoustic and folk/jazz music styles are faithfully presented allowing audiences to be swept along in “colored currents” of emotional reminiscence. Songs include: Just Like Me, Night in the City, Both Sides Now, Chelsea Morning, You Turn Me On, I’m a Radio, Marci, The Circle Game, Morgan Town, Little Green, That Song About the Midway, Coyote, Cold Blue Steel, Harry’s House, Come In From The Cold, Night Ride Home, and many more!
