Travel to Cherry Homes (now a residential neighborhood) and see where one of the areaβs bustling cherry processing factories once operated. Along the way, hear captivating tales of the families, orchards, and businesses that helped make Leelanau Township a nationally recognized cherry-producing region. Then, dive into the dramatic stories of local shipwrecks, brave sailors, and the powerful waters of Lake Michigan.

Meet the Organizer
The Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum opened in 1985. Volunteers restored the southern apartment to the 1920's and 1930's time period when the McCormick family lived there. Tour the residence, climb the tower for a spectacular view of Lake Michigan.
