Grand Traverse Lighthouse Beacon Road Rally Scavenger Hunt around Leelanau County....This event will go rain or shine.
All proceeds will benefit the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum US Coast Guard boat restoration which will be used for school programming to find local shipwrecks. Students will also learn about our local maritime history.
Check-in/Registration is from 11 am to 11:45 am. The event begins at 12 noon from the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum, located inside the Leelanau State Park. The physical address is 15500 N. Lighthouse Pt. Rd., Northport, MI 49670. A recreation passport is required to park inside the state park or free parking will be available, just outside the state park.
The cost is $50 per car; 4 occupants maximum. This is a family-friendly event. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Sizes available include (child-S, M, L, XL or adult- S, M, L, XL, 2X). All ticket sales are non-refundable.
You will need to create a team name for your car. Each team will check in and be given scavenger hunt instructions. There are 12-15 mystery spots around Leelanau County (Suttons Bay, Lake Leelanau, Leland line (M-204) and north to Northport and Grand Traverse Lighthouse, which is the tip of the peninsula). Each team will have to decipher the clue which will lead them to a mystery spot to collect something or do something with photo proof. There will also be bonus point options available. A rally packet be provided on that day. This mystery tour may take you to historic sites, parks, wineries, breweries, and other fun places around the area. You have from 12 noon to 4:30 pm to complete the scavenger hunt and return to Northport for the celebration finish line and the final point count. Prizes will be awarded to the top five teams.
This event is meant to be a fun-filled, get out doors activity for families of all ages. Every participant will receive a Road Rally t-shirt.
