Gene Rantz Memorial Plein Air Paint Out Reception, July 22, 6-9pm

Gene Rantz founded the Plein Air Paint Out in Northport and it has become one of our biggest events of the season. We continue this event in Gene’s honor. Gene was a mentor and friend to many of the artist that attend.

Artists from Michigan and beyond, love coming to Northport to paint for two days and share their fabulous, artistic interpretations of the area with you!

The Artists begin painting on Friday, July 21st shortly after they check in at 7am. They paint until 4pm then drop off their work and some of the creative diehards go back out to paint a golden hour piece. They check in again on Saturday, July 22 and finish off their painting marathon and have their work ready and framed by 4pm.

We appreciate all the art lovers that come to see the outstanding artwork created each year.
