Join us on Wednesday, February 19 at 7 pm at the Milliken Auditorium, Dennos Museum Center, NMC for a spectacular program entitled, “Exploring the W.C. KIMBALL, a Manitou Mysteries Shipwreck Adventure”.
Journey to the waters off the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Northern Lake Michigan and join author and shipwreck hunter Ross Richardson in exploring the histories and mysteries of the Manitou Passage, one of the deadliest areas on the great lakes. An undiscovered fleet of shipwrecked ghost-ships lies off that rugged coast, just waiting to be found. Learn their stories and explore a newly discovered mystery schooner thought to be one of the most intact shipwrecks on the planet.
Author and shipwreck hunter Ross Richardson has spent the last two decades exploring Lake Michigan and documenting new shipwreck discoveries. We was a member of the Benzie Area Public Safety Dive Team For nearly a decade, working in conjunction with the Benzie County Sheriff’s Department. He has written two books concerning Michigan history and unsolved mysteries and created the popular website www.michiganmysteries.com.
The cost for this program is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if tickets are still available. This is a fundraiser for the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum. All proceeds will benefit the ongoing restoration and preservation of the historic lighthouse and surrounding property.
