Colds and various influenzas are caused by a wide variety of viruses. Our first line of defense is to do all we can to keep our immune systems operating at peak performance in hopes of helping our bodies fend off viruses before we get sick. It’s important to understand the reason you catch a virus is not an inevitable event based on exposure alone!
This is a hands-on workshop in which we will be making three different mixtures. We will blend our own ‘Immune Booster’ tea, using ingredients such as rose hips, goldenseal and chamomile. The ‘Super Tonic’ will include garlic and ginger. We will also concoct a powerful Echinacea tincture.
About our presenter, Sandy Gaunt:
Sandy Gaunt is a retired special education teacher and currently a yoga instructor. She has always had a strong interest in plants and gardening but healing herbs became a passion of hers after a series of health issues struck family members for which there didn’t seem to be good solutions from the medical community. This led her on a search for natural remedies, in particular herbs and their healing powers.
Sandy received her Family Herbalist certificate from the School of Natural Healing based in Utah and follows the teachings of the late, great herbalist Dr. John Christopher. She now buys, grows and gathers a variety of herbs to blend them into teas for specific ailments from osteoporosis to stomach ailments and more. Sandy creates new formulas as the needs of friends and family arise. She also sells teas out of her home in Cadillac.
