Directed by Lynne Tobin, the Civic String Ensembles program welcomes string players of all ages and skills to two community string orchestras -- Sinfonia Strings and Prelude Strings -- that meet for weekly rehearsals and performances throughout the year. Civic Sinfonia Strings is an advanced group designed for players of all ages with a minimum of three years of experience, while Civic Prelude Strings members should have at least one year of experience and been introduced to note reading.
In addition to these two ensembles, we offer a Chamber Music Program coached and directed by TSO Associate Concertmaster Steven K. Leonard. The Chamber Music Program is open to all Prelude and Sinfonia members, as well as other interested amateur string musicians.
