Sophia and Jonathan will present a wide range of Christmas music from Irving Berlin to Vince Guaraldi to Joni Mitchell and will even feature a tune by Sophia Bondi. They chose songs both happy and sad and the Music House hopes that you will be delighted by the vocal stylings of Sophia Bondi and piano prowess of Jon Bass.

Sophia Bondi is a drummer and vocalist from Seattle, Washington. She cannot remember a time when she didn't sing. From a young age, she sang in the Northwest Girlchoir, where her favourite pieces were always jazz arrangements. She began playing traditional African marimba when she was eight, jazz drumset when she was twelve, and orchestral percussion at age fourteen. In the summer of her freshman year of high school, she attended Interlochen Arts Camp. She fell in love with Interlochen then, and now attends Interlochen Arts Academy for jazz drumset and percussion. She is currently studying percussion with Keith Aleo and jazz with Bill Sears, and she keeps her vocal chops up by writing and singing original songs in the jazz and folk/americana genres. She also volunteers at Interlochen public radio, as a production assistant on the Music By Request program. She is delighted to perform for the first time at the Music House museum.

Jonathan Bass, a native of Washington Island, Wisconsin, has been taking piano lessons since age three. He has studied with both Jazz and Classical professionals including Jodie Desalvo, Adaron Jackson, Marty Robinson, and George Lepauw. For the past five summers, Jonathan has been been a student at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Door County, Wisconsin, where he won student awards for outstanding musicianship four out of five years, and was named a winner of the concerto competition in 2018. In 2017, he was a member of the Birch Creek Jazz Ambassadors, playing over ten concerts in a two week span. Currently a senior at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Jonathan studies classical piano with Michael Coonrod and Jazz with Bill Sears. Jonathan is a grateful recipient of scholarships from the Peninsula Music Festival in Door County, Birch Creek, and Interlochen.
