Join us on National Cheese Lover’s Day with The Cheese Lady for a cocktail and cheese sampling party! Tickets include drink and cheese samples, tax and gratuity. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Are you stuck on Stilton or gaga for Gouda? Do you crave Camembert? If so, you just might be a turophile, the ultimate cheese lover. From an irregular formation of the Greek word for cheese, tyros, plus the English -phile, meaning "lover" (itself a descendant of the Greek -philos, meaning "loving"), turophile first named cheese aficionados as early as 1938. It was in the 1950s, however, that the term really caught the attention of the American public, when Clifton Fadiman (writer, editor, and radio host) introduced turophile to readers of his eloquent musings on the subject of cheese. (From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

We all know there is no such thing as “too much cheese;” join us to sample (and purchase) a variety of cheeses from The Cheese Lady while helping a good cause! At 123 Speakeasy, we recruit and employ veterans with year-round work at living wages. In keeping with our mission of inclusivity, dignity, and respect, we are raising funds during this event to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project (click on the link to learn more).

Minimum Age: The dinner party is held within a bar/restaurant at 123 Speakeasy. All attendees must be above 21 in age to enter. Tickets and IDs will be checked at the door. (Key holders may skip the line as usual if they flash their key and the ticket.)

Check-in Policy: Guests may arrive whenever they please--sampling stations will be available during the duration of the event. We encourage guests to arrive between 5 - 6pm in order to get the most out of their experience.

Over-serving: At 123 Speakeasy, we like to encourage a quality drinking experience, with a better drinking culture. We reserve the right to refuse service to any guests that are visibly intoxicated or disruptive. If asked to leave, guests will not receive a refund.

How does seating and food/drink service work? During this event there is open seating, as we find guests prefer to socialize and mingle as they progress through the various food/drink stations.

A $25 ticket includes cheese and cocktail pairings, coat check, tax, and gratuity. The Cheese Lady will be available so guests can purchase take-home portions of any cheeses they enjoyed.
