WHAT?
Celebrating 25 years of delivering the roots sound of southwest Louisiana’s creole, cajun, and zydeco music to the Great Lakes region, K Jones and the Benzie Playboys have made a home for Louisiana rhythms in Northern Michigan and beyond. Beloved as Michigan favorites and proud ambassadors of Louisiana music, they keep building their fan base with electrifying live shows that include two-steppin’, waltzes, and smoking red-hot zydeco dancing. Touring dance halls and festivals across the Midwest and the East Coast, they’ve released multiple albums and headlined major festivals, earning a devoted following wherever they play. From intimate club nights to big-stage showcases, the band continues to bring Louisiana grooves and high-energy dance music to new audiences, honoring tradition while keeping the party rolling. Fundraising proceeds benefit Grow Benzie (GrowBenzie.org).

Meet the Organizer
As a rural prosperity incubator, Grow Benzie works to accelerate the impact of grassroots projects, small-scale non-profits, and food and farming enterprises. We offer space to gather, grow, and share resources, from incubator kitchens to co-working offices, a bee apiary to sewing studios. We offer essential support services to other organizations and nonprofits, services such as communications, bookkeeping, grant writing, and volunteer management-all necessary operational support. And we foster intentional collaboration to increase efficiency and impact across our community initiatives.
