About This Event

What?
This evening fundraiser celebrates the cultural connections Louisiana and Michigan share through music, food, and community leisure. National and local musicians perform blues and zydeco music, while the menu stirs Louisiana & Michigan together: jambalaya, andouille, redskin potatoes/corn/greens, shrimp poboys, sweet potato fries, cajun fish tacos, BBQ pork sandwiches, crab corn fritters, cornbread, Grow Benzie salads, beignets, strawberry shortcake, sweet tea and lemonade.

Ticket prices include admission to the event and auctions- food, alcohol, beverages and merchandise will be available for separate purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and dancing shoes. Yard games including bocce ball, bean bag toss, ladderball, and disc golf will be available. All funds raised will benefit Grow Benzie's community center, youth and educational programs (www.GrowBenzie.org).

Meet the Organizer

Grow Benzie

As a rural prosperity incubator, Grow Benzie works to accelerate the impact of grassroots projects, small-scale non-profits, and food and farming enterprises. We offer space to gather, grow, and share resources, from incubator kitchens to co-working offices, a bee apiary to sewing studios. We offer essential support services to other organizations and nonprofits, services such as communications, bookkeeping, grant writing, and volunteer management-all necessary operational support. And we foster intentional collaboration to increase efficiency and impact across our community initiatives.
