Join us on Thursday, June 27th from 10:00am - 12:00pm for the annual Authors in the Park Story Time event!

Celebrated local children’s authors will read their books to families throughout the grounds of The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park co-hosted with the Traverse Area District Library.

This is a wonderful opportunity for children and parents or caregivers to enjoy stories in the great outdoors. Local children’s authors will be set up in different garden spaces of The Botanic Garden and will read their books for attendees throughout the morning.

Each of the featured authors will be reading their book in a different garden, creating an opportunity for all to explore and discover different areas throughout the park.

• Bill O. Smith will be reading "Chickadees at Night"

• Brianne Farley will be reading "Secret Tree Fort" 

• JeffrAy Kessler will be reading "Colantha: A Beloved World Champion Cow"

Stay tuned after the readings and enjoy the Traverse Area District Library's Music and Movement Program... guitar and puppets and dancing, oh my! 🎶

Families are invited to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy after story time. Books will be available for purchase in the Visitor Center Gift Shop.

This is a FREE event and everyone is welcome to attend! Donations are always welcome and your support helps the Garden grow.

An RSVP is not required for this event but it's helpful for us to know how many to expect — please RSVP if you are able!

In an effort to be as 'green' as possible, we use MyNorth's E-Tickets option for ticket delivery. This means your reserved tickets will be available to view from your email confirmation or order history. You do not need to print these prior to the event.
