Event Details

WNMC 90.7 FM, Strings by Mail and Connemara Concerts are pleased to announce a special Sunday afternoon of music, featuring two leading innovators of guitar, Alex de Grassi and Andrew York.

Alex de Grassi and Andrew York step outside the box to weave the sounds and traditions of steel and nylon into a unique program for two guitars. Having begun their respective careers in seemingly different genres, Alex as a largely self-taught folk and jazz musician and Andrew as a trained classical guitarist, a mutual passion for exploring all types of music has led these two acclaimed Grammy honored composers/performers to a crossroads where steel string and classical guitars interact seamlessly. Encompassing original compositions, improvisation, and arrangements of standards and pop songs, their concert program presents an astonishingly diverse musical landscape. This concert by these Grammy nominated and winning guitarists will showcase their unique talents in both guitar solos and guitar duos.
