Festivities for the evening include live music by Judy Harrison & Rebooted, enticing hors d’ouevres plus local wine, beer and cider. Enjoy an enchanting night of music, dance, treats and fun while encouraging area arts. The Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre, a youth company in Traverse City, is throwing its second annual Gala Fundraiser. “A Magical Faery Garden” will be held on the evening of Saturday, October 7 at the Bluewater Hall located at 13424 S. West Bay Shore Drive in Traverse City. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The event’s theme reflects this season’s main production in February of A Midsummer Night’s Faery Tale, a whimsical and captivating ballet based on a book by Wendy Froud and Terri Windling.

“Last year’s gala was a huge success. I was amazed how much everyone enjoyed the evening,” said Thomas Morrell, founder and artistic director of the Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre. “Dozens of people told us they would be back again this year! It was a great date night!”

Dancers from the Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre will present excerpts from A Midsummer Night’s Faery Tale, which features original choreography as well as stunning original costumes. Afterward, there will be a ballroom dance lesson taught by Mr. Morrell followed by an open dance to live music.
