About This Event
"Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens." Encore will perform some of the concert bands time honored pieces that rekindle old memories or create new ones. This concert will feature the virtuoso playing of Encore's own Euphonium player, Ed Bahr.
Edward Bahr is Professor Emeritus of Low Brass at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. He received his BM "with distinction" and his MM degree from the Eastman School of Music, and his DMA from the University of Oklahoma. Ed is presently first trombone in the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra and the Northern Symphonic Winds , and principal euphonium in the Northern Michigan Brass Band and Encore Band. He has been principal trombonist in the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra (AL), and assistant conductor, principal trombone, and author of program notes with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra (PA) He was an active member of the Berkshire Symphony Orchestra, Tupelo Symphony (MS), Mississippi Symphonic Winds, and has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony (NY), and Oklahoma Symphony on trombone, euphonium, and bass trumpet. Ed has also been trombone and euphonium soloist, ensemble player, lecturer and conductor at International Trombone Association Festivals in Nashville, TN, Rochester, NY, and Las Vegas, NV.
