Coronavirus Update: FYI Tickets sales will be limited to 250 people per show per State of Michigan requirements. Please understand that we value everyone’s health, the safety of the dancers, families, and our supporters.  We plan to continue with the ballet and the dancers will be performing both Saturday shows at 2pm and 7pm.  We understand if anyone feels that attending the performance is not advisable.

We will have a couple of options for watching the show.  If you wish to attend, we ask that you keep a safe social distance while at the Milliken Auditorium which will be easy to accomplish with anticipated very small audiences.  Or, if you wish to watch the ballet from home, we will provide a live stream link during the performances via Facebook Live. If you have not purchased a ticket for the show and prefer to watch the live stream from home please feel free to offer a donation at our square site: nmbt.square.site Thank you!

As patrons of Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre, your ticket purchases support these students’ education beyond the stage. Allowing your ticket purchase to convert to a tax-deductible donation continues that support of our students and ensures that we can continue to offer quality entertainment and excellent education.

If you’d prefer to receive a refund, we will honor your request. Please send your request for refund to NMBT (NOT Mynorthtickets) at the following email address: [email protected]

This charming original ballet is an adaptation of an old Irish legend about Lusmore, a poor hunchback who sells fine baskets in the region of Knockgrafton. Because of his grotesque shape, the townspeople are frightened by his appearance and ridicule him. He is befriended by a young girl named Nancy, who sells flowers in the village. The townspeople drive Lusmore away into the forest, where he falls asleep only to be awakened by fairies singing and dancing. Impressed with his dancing, the fairies invite him to join in their celebration. They magically remove his hump and fit him with new garments. Jack Madden, a peevish and cunning fellow, envious of Lusmore’s new garments, bursts in on the fairies dance. They attack him placing Lusmore’s old hump squarely on his back.

Housed at the studios of Ballet Etc.
