We are thrilled to announce and invite you to join us for Autumn on the Lake, a fundraising celebration to underwrite improvements in downtown Alden. Over the past 20 years, the Alden Volunteers have completed over 500 community service projects to enhance and preserve this quaint village, the only one located on the shores of Torch Lake! Proceeds from this event are earmarked for the Alden Art Walk and renovations at Mrs. Smith’s Village Park.

Join us on Saturday, September 21, 5-8 PM, for amazing musical and fine dining experience!

  • The evening begins with John Orpheus, a Trini Troubadour and Pan-African poet whose musical journey has taken him from the Trinidad bush, to blues and folk festivals across Canada, to some of the biggest rock and roll stages in the world. His trio includes Alden native Sarah Riegler as its percussionist. Visit http://www.johnorpheus.com/johnorpheus for more.
  • Acclaimed and award-winning Rich Travis, former executive chef at Tapawingo and now owner-operator of Your Personal Chef catering, will prepare your dinner and dessert. (this event is BYOB)
  • 50/50 raffle and spectacular live auction items
  • “Michigan’s Songbird,” May Erlewine, will cap the evening off with her musical magic. May is Michigan's premier singer-songwriter. Growing up in an eclectic, music infused, homeschool environment, May played in punk bands, train jumped and hitch-hiked across the US when she was a teenager, and later settled down on a farm in Michigan. Her stories and songs are captivating and relatable. Her latest album, “Mother Lion,” is her best writing yet, named WYCE's "Album of the Year" 2018. Find out more about May at www.mayerlewine.com.

Seating is limited to 100 people. Ticket sales will conclude on September 13.
