2017 Second Annual STOUT CHALLENGE

The TC Ale Trail, MI Local Hops, Drink My Brewcast and Create TC are happy to announce the Second Annual Traverse City Stout Challenge!

The STOUT challenge is a local competition between 10 Traverse City area breweries. Each brewery will produce their “Best STOUT” and submit it for the event. 200 beer lovers will have the opportunity to get tickets and be a judge and choose their favorite brew. All tasting will be blind. Ticket holders will know the description of the beer, ABV, and other facts, but the brewery will remain confidential. At 10pm an awards ceremony will take place. The winning brewery will take home a trophy and the privilege of saying their brewery has “The Best STOUT in the Traverse City area!”

Troy Daily, organizer of the event is excited about the second annual event “The Stout Challenge is a ton of fun and a great way to get the area breweries together during the typically slower winter months. The event has become very popular and I am excited to see what the breweries brew up for this one."

The 10 Traverse City area breweries that are participating in the event include; The Filling Station Microbrewery, The Workshop Brewery, Brewery Ferment, Old Mission Beer Co.(at Jolly Pumpkin), Brewery Terra Firma, Right Brain Brewery, North Peak Brewing Company, Earthen Ales, Short's Brewing Company and Rare Bird Brewpub.

Unique to this event, like the IPA Challenge, there will be VIP tickets available. This will guarantee you a seat, table service, snacks and other amenities. Limited seats are available!
