The package offers 6 scrumptious dessert and cocktail pairings served as flights, so guests can explore the wide range of treats offered at 123 Speakeasy and at Sweet Tartlette. Discover a new favorite, or try an old standby in a new way; combinations will include smokey, sweet, and savory flavor profiles, so there is sure to be something for confectionary connoisseurs and bon bon beginners!

The name ‘Sweet Tartlette’ stems directly from Sarah’s philosophy on desserts – the best recipes are not singular. Food that balances diverse flavors and distinct textures tantalizes all five taste receptors of the tongue. Desserts should not be just sweet; they can be tart, salty, and bitter; they can be crunchy, soft and creamy; they can be hot and cold juxtaposed. These balancing acts make for a better, more intriguing tasting experience.

Sound familiar? We thought so!

Join us on this flavor safari as we pair a variety of Sarah's creations with cocktails spanning all flavor profiles of our menu. A $25 ticket includes six dessert tastings with cocktail pairings, a tasting sheet so guests can rate and keep track of their favorites, coat check, tax and gratuity.

The staff from Sweet Tartlette will be available so guests can purchase take-home portions of any sweets they enjoyed.

Minimum Age: The tasting party is held within a bar/restaurant at 123 Speakeasy. All attendees must be above 21 in age to enter. Tickets and IDs will be checked at the door. (Key holders may skip the line as usual if they flash their key and the ticket.)

Check-in Policy: Guests may arrive whenever they please--sampling will be available during the duration of the event. We encourage guests to arrive between 5 - 6pm in order to get the most out of their experience.

Over-serving: At 123 Speakeasy, we like to encourage a quality drinking experience, with a better drinking culture. We reserve the right to refuse service to any guests that are visibly intoxicated or disruptive. If asked to leave, guests will not receive a refund.

How does seating and food/drink service work? During this event there is open seating, as we find guests prefer to socialize and mingle as they progress through the various food/drink pairings:

ONE

Tahitian Vanilla Cupcake & Whisper Sister

Classic yellow vanilla cake, Italian buttercream scented with Tahitian vanilla beans.

“Whisper sister” takes apple-infused bourbon layered with champagne, rose simple syrup, and finishes with foraged rosehip tincture.

TWO

Chocolate Lavender Sandwich & Secret Garden

Delicate shortbread, lavender-infused milk chocolate ganache, white chocolate.

Your sunny herb garden in a glass; the Secret Garden combines Bombay Sapphire gin, St. Germain, house basil tincture, and fresh basil.

THREE

Meyer Lemon Tart & Great Lakes Grog

Meyer lemon cream, toasted meringue, dark chocolate.

“Great Lakes Grog” is a spiked apple cider, with sumac-infused white rum and oregano.

FOUR

Walnut Gianduja Macaron & Bootlegger’s Blizzard

Toasted walnuts, dark and milk chocolate, chocolate macaron.

Named for the blizzard of 1923 that saved bootleggers’ liquor from a G-man bust, our version of a white Russian combines Grind espresso liqueur, cereal milk, and foraged teaberry tincture.

FIVE

Vacherin & Dirty Thirty

Crispy meringue, passion fruit curd, fresh strawberries.

The Dirty Thirty is our hot take on a margarita: habanero-infused tequila, tamarind juice, house cinnamon-peach shrub, and lemon juice

SIX

Raspberry Chocolate Tart & Rose Sour

Raspberry compote, bittersweet chocolate ganache, chocolate cookie.

Rose-infused scotch, lemon juice, house rose simple syrup, egg whites, Peychaud bitters, edible rose petals

About Sweet Tartlette: Sweet Tartlette is the sweet dream of Sarah Steele, owner and pastry chef. Sarah started in the culinary industry in college and began taking cake decorating classes after attending Michigan State University. After a tour of the kitchens and pastry cases of some of Chicago’s finest restaurants and bakeries, she is excited to introduce downtown Traverse City to her love for all things sweet!

As a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America’s Baking and Pastry Arts program, Sarah is a proud cake decorator, chocolatiere, and patissiere. While living in Chicago, her enjoyment for teaching crossed into her love for crafting delicious desserts and the two have intertwined to become Sweet Tartlette.
