More Information
Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre (LST) was founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Elizabeth Laidlaw.  LST features the performing and technical talents of a rotating company of over 30 of Chicago's finest theatrical artists working in tandem with our partners and artists from the Benzie County community.  Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre makes its home in Frankfort, MI.  Dedicated to being a center for Shakespeare and dramatic arts in Northern Michigan, LST performs its annual season each summer at Tank Hill in Frankfort.

LST offers workshops for children, teens, and adults during its summer season at Tank Hill, and in the Spring and Fall at Oliver Art Center.  The summer session workshop culminate in a performance on the Tank Hill stage.  The workshops have grown every year, and the programming continues to expand to meet the demand.  Several workshop participants have go on to perform as interns in LST's performances, including one who is now a company member.

This year, 2013, marks Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre's 10th season!  So, for our 10th season, we are doing The Comedy of Errors and Romeo and Juliet   July 23, 2013 - August 2, 2013.

Most performances and workshops are offered free of charge; donations are welcome.  LST is a non-profit arts group.

It is Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre's goal to continue to expand their reach beyond Benzie, and beyond theatre, to become a hub of artistic challenge and opportunity for many artists, and to develop further appreciation and support for the performing and visual arts in Northern Michigan.
