The Leelanau Outdoor Center (LOC) serves over 2000 Michigan students each year. LOC programs run throughout the school year and work with teachers and administrators to deliver a parallel curriculum of character and outdoor education. In addition, LOC hosts an annual teacher conference as well as corporate group outings and various events open to the public. This year, LOC is hosting the First Annual Snowshoe Stampede on February 2 with a 5K Race and a 1 Mile Snowflake Race for kids 12 and under on February 2. Races begin at 10:30 am. Events will be followed by a hot lunch and entertainment in the Lodge for all participants.
All net proceeds will benefit the LOC Tuition Assistance Program to help school programs attend LOC.
Snowshoe rentals will be available - $12 adult, $8 child. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. For more information, contact the Leelanau Outdoor Center at 231.334.3808.
